Before 8:00 am , walking to work down Gawler Place, a derelict-looking bloke swerved into me from the other side of the footpath.

I hesitated and gave him a dirty look for bumping me. He stopped, came back up to me, and said: “I’m going to kill you.”

I stood my ground and he wandered off.

I made light of it when I told people later:
“I thought of saying, ‘Well, I’m off to work right now, but if you wait outside the building at 5:00 you can kill me then’.”

But his crackhead aggression shocked me.
